Brass Inc

Brass Inc is a professional brass quintet that can supply your musical needs for any special occasion. Our repertoire consists of Christian, classical, jazz, dixie, ragtime, pop, light rock, and  broadway show tunes that feature fine ensemble playing and select solo features. With over 200 tunes and melodies in our repertoire, you will find that we have selections appropriate for weddings, receptions, parties, holiday or special social events. Each of the five members are freelance musicians and teach private lessons in the North Dallas, Richardson, Garland, and Carrollton area. You will find our individual and combined experiences will bring a quality of musicianship, entertainment, and musical expertise to your next event!

Adam Miller – 1st Trumpet
 

Adam is a private teacher in Plano and Carrollton. He earned his Bachelors at Southern Methodist University and Masters in Performance at The Juilliard School in New York. He is an Adjunct Trumpet Professor at Brookhaven College.

His playing experience includes Shanghai Broadcasting Orchestra, Dallas Wind Symphony, Irving Symphony, Plano Symphony and the Juilliard Trumpet Ensemble (won ensemble division of National Trumpet Competition)

He has studied with Jay Saunders, Tom Booth, Mark Gould, Phil Smith, and Wynton Marsalis.

 

 

Frank Reed - 2nd Trumpet
Frank is a private music teacher in Garland and Duncanville. He earned his Music Ed. Degree at the University of Nebraska. He studied Jazz at North Texas State University.

His playing experience has been with many: Brian Setzer Orch (Letterman; Regis and Kathy Lee), Frank Sinatra Jr., Mel Torme, Temptations, Four Tops, Platters, O.J.'s, Martha Reeves, Frankie Valley, Peter Noon (Herman's Hermits), Tommy Dorsey Orch, Guy Lombardo Orch, Dallas Cowboys Trumpets, Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Shrine Circus, Holiday on Ice, Ice Capades, National Finals Rodeo and the Mesquite Symphony.

He has studied with Clement Volpe (Principal- Minnesota Symphony), Greg Lewis, Charlie Sheppard, Dennis Schneider, Leonard Candelaria, Ray Krisara, Uan Rasey, Malcolm McNabb and Don (Jake) Jacoby.


 

Lesley Harkey - Horn
 

Lesley is a private music teacher in Plano and Carrollton. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Henderson State University. He then went on to complete a Masters Degree in French horn performance at the University of North Texas.

He plays with the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, Allen Philharmonic Symphony, Sherman Symphony, S. Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, New Life Symphony Orchestra, and the Prestonwood Baptist Church. He played in several distinguished groups including the Chamber Orchestra, the Collegium Musicum (period instruments), the Symphonic Band and the Wind Symphony.

He studied with William Scharnberg, Haley Hoops and Jim Woolly.
 

 

James Wallace - Trombone
 

James is a private teacher in Plano. James' formal education includes a Bachelor in Music from the University of North Texas, and a Master of Music from Texas Christian University. James plays the trombone in addition to the bass trombone, euphonium and some piano. James also has arranged some pieces in our book of music. James is at home playing Classical, Big Band, Combo Jazz, Funk, and Rhythm and Blues. 

He was influenced musically by J. J. Johnson, Christian Lindberg, and Robin Eubanks. He is a regular performer with Professor D, Slideshow, and other professional ensembles around the Dallas Fort Worth area.

He has studied with Richard Murrow, Dr. Vern Kagaricce, John Kitzman,Dennis Bubert, Mike Steinel, Dan Haerle, and Fred Hamilton.
